The technology that you are about to learn about can be separated into four categories and will often overlap:
1.Health promoting technologies: Technologies that help someone manage their health or seek accountability with health promoting decision making
2.Safety promoting technologies: Technologies that reduce risk of injury, fire, theft, or other emergency and promotes access for support from trusted people.
3.Independence promoting technologies: Technology that helps someone do more on their own and need less help from others.
4.Remote support: A service that uses technology, including sensor technology, to support someone according to their needs from a remote location. This is just like Direct Support – only instead of someone being physically present they provide support from another location.
